    Slice the bok choy in half vertically.

    Trim the bottom stems of the shiitake mushrooms and cut decorative flower patterns into the tops.

    Finely chop the garlic and green onion.

    Boil a pot of water with 1 teaspoon of salt. Blanch the bok choy for 1 minute, then remove immediately.
